Good evening, I am Constable Bobby Adams, and I am honored to serve as your 2025 chairman of the Nederland Chamber of Commerce. Thank you all for coming out tonight. What a
difference a week makes in Texas weather. Some of you here tonight have served on this board and some of have stood here as chairpersons and I thank you for your service and dedication to our community. I would like to invite all of you to become involved with the Nederland Chamber. The benefits far
outweigh the obligations. The chamber sponsors and engages in projects and events that make Nederland a stronger community. The Monthly Networking Coffees are a terrific opportunity for local business members to learn from each other about ways to grow and develop their business. Part of our motto is, “People like to do business with people they know.” We promote
businesses with our Sip & Shop events by highlighting your
business’s products and services to our large membership. The chamber has a remarkably busy funnel cake booth at the
Nederland Heritage Festival. We invite you to put on your logo shirts and get in front of thousands of consumers for six days in March. There is no better way to engage with your community than that, I promise you! We also host a huge Trunk-r-Treat event on Halloween, another opportunity to rub elbows with your potential customers, and an even bigger Lighted Christmas Parade in December. These are a few of our community
involvement events. We go to Austin every other year to meet with our elected officials in the hopes of strengthening our
infrastructure for future growth. We host BizConnect meetings to discuss relevant topics for small businesses, and we host
Candidate Forums to help educate and encourage our citizens to get out and vote. In 2024, with the help of our members and the entire community, we donated over 1,000 pounds of food to Community Care Prayer Outreach. You should all give yourselves a big round of applause for that. In the wake of the immense industrial growth, we are seeing the opportunity for a small business boom like we have not seen in many years, maybe ever. We ask you to consider joining the chamber now, or if you are already a member, please, consider getting more involved.
This year, as your chairman, my focus will be to grow and strengthen our membership as well as to continue to promote our existing members. Please feel free to reach out to myself or any board member for information on how you can join the chamber. If you are already a member, and you would like to be more involved, we can help with that, too.
